Not documented means the source does not establish the answer. No exact floor-and-underlay installation is approved by this table. A generic heating claim does not establish water or electric compatibility. Some or all system details may remain unknown.
“Suitable for underfloor heating” is a starting point.
The heating system, laminate, underlay and installation instructions all affect the decision. This tool distinguishes a water system from an electric one and excludes products with a recorded restriction that conflicts with your selection. A generic suitability claim remains an open question.
Check three things together
- System type. Identify water or electric heating and the way it is installed. Keep the heating supplier’s instructions available.
- Floor and underlay requirements. Check the exact models, permitted temperature and the combined thermal resistance for that installation.
- Subfloor preparation. Confirm the moisture, flatness and any membrane requirements. Heating suitability does not replace those checks.
For its own laminate systems, Quick-Step gives a maximum contact temperature of 27°C and a combined thermal-resistance limit of 0.15 m² K/W, with a specific Thermolevel exception. These are manufacturer-specific instructions, not universal settings for every product in our catalog. See Quick-Step’s heating guidance.
Why do some results still need confirmation?
Some store listings record “water only”; others simply say “yes”. The planner can act on an explicit restriction but cannot turn a generic statement into evidence for an electric system. The same applies when a combined thermal resistance or an exact floor-and-underlay approval is missing.
Quantity example
For a 20 m² room with an illustrative 10% allowance, the target coverage is 22 m². A floor covering 2 m² per pack needs 11 packs. Underlay covering 10 m² per roll needs three rolls. Heating requirements can exclude either product even when these quantities are sufficient.
Common questions
Can I use an electric system with a water-only product?
The planner excludes that recorded mismatch. Obtain product-specific manufacturer guidance before considering an installation that conflicts with the listing.
Is a thicker underlay better?
Thickness alone does not answer heating suitability. Check the documented thermal resistance and the floor manufacturer’s requirements for the complete installation.
Can this tool approve my installation?
It calculates materials and flags recorded restrictions. Missing evidence is shown explicitly. A result marked as a candidate still needs confirmation for the exact floor, underlay, subfloor and heating system.
