How many boxes of laminate flooring do I need?
Area × (1 + allowance ÷ 100) ÷ square feet per carton.
Round up to whole cartons and apply the merchant’s minimum order.
A whole-carton example
Two rooms measuring 12 × 10 ft and 10 × 8 ft cover 200 sq ft. With an illustrative 10% allowance, the target is 220 sq ft. Cartons covering 19.76 sq ft require 12 cartons, supplying 237.12 sq ft. At a manually entered $50 per carton, the materials estimate is $600. These are worked-example inputs, not a current offer.
How much extra laminate should I buy?
Change the allowance to suit the selected floor’s instructions, room shape and laying plan. The starting 10% is a planning example. The tool counts material; it does not draw a board layout or calculate an approved stagger.
Minimum orders can change the result
A small room may require more cartons than area alone suggests if the merchant sets a minimum. Recorded product choices preserve that rule and label prices that need confirmation in cart.
What is in the USD estimate?
Manual estimates multiply cartons by your entered carton price. Recorded offers use their documented billing basis, including square-foot pricing billed in complete cartons. Installation labor and other project costs need a separate estimate.
